Lyrics
By Arenson, Paul

I wrote this as a college freshman....and I guess it says in words and music what I was too shy to say in person to a girl I liked. Had I actually said it, who knows where I would be today. (1970)

Many times i have loved and every time you have not

You who seemed so soft and so free

many times i have hoped and every time you've cut the rope

But even so i'll go on thinking of you

And i've got reason to believe

That unless we plant a seed

Sun will never shine tomorrow

But we walk on different streets

Just so that we'll never meet

Even though we both know our game means sorrow

No we can't go on living without loving too

And we can't go on fearing the words I love you

Some think love is a thingthat is bought like a ring

and it's won by the ones who are charming

me I love what i can know

And i know that love can grow

Like two roses conceived in the winter

And i love your love of trees

And i ask you love me please

For a reason that is to your liking

Don' search high and don't search low

You gotta love what you can know

And in time, there'll be a fine flower garden
